“Open field day. Presentation of organic plant breeding in Agrologica, Houvej 55, DK-9550 Mariager”
29th June, Mariager
The 29th of June, 45 people attended the open field day at Agrologica, Denmark. Farmers, consumers, advisors and researchers discussed plant breeding issues and saw the research field of the COBRA-project and other projects at Agrologica. The COBRA-project mainly concerns within crop diversity, whereas the other projects at Agrologica concerns between crop diversity. There seem to be a growing interest in populations and within crop diversity especially among organic farmers to achieve more stability in organic grain production. Among consumers, the main interest is diversity between crops to achieve a diversity in products. For politicians and nature conversationalists both within crop and between crop diversity gain interest for the purpose of conserving PGR and to create regional robustness and stable food production in a changing and unpredictable environment. The field day resulted in many positive feedback reactions.
